Considered an "herb" by some, it likes sun to partial shade, and is great in the shade garden. Flower bloom on a short spike at the top of a tall stem, then has
growth further down. This adds color and brightness to an otherwise dull area. Height reaches 2 feet or more, with a spread of 1- 1 1/2 feet. Blooms May to June, but mine have bloomed miuch longer and later than this. Flowers are a reddish purple to pink. These are deer and black walnut resistant. Once established, they are drought tolerant.

BRUNNERA AKA False Forget Me Knots
These plants are best known for it's love of shade and the beautiful frosted silvery foliage. It has long lasting sprays of bright blue (forget me knots) flowers which
last through spring into summer. Numerous varieties are available, and most get larger yearly.

This bellflower is cherry pink with reddish purple dots all over! The chimelike flowers are 2 inches long and hang from the stems in such quantity, that the plant itself needs staking. It likes sun to part shade, regular watering, and reaches up to 16 inches tall. This should be contained, as it spreads from rhizomes and self seeds readily. Beautiful plant if contained.

FORGET ME KNOT (Myosotis)
This Groundcover flowers May through October once established. It does best in damp shady areas, producing clear blue flowers with bright yellow eyes and orange centers. Spreads quickly to fill an area. Comes in white and pink flowers also when available.

This is the perennial version of the geranium. This blooms profusely but sporadically through fall in some areas in full sun to partial shade in average soil. Ours do well in mostly shady and damp soils under evergreens. Kind of spindly, best to plant amongst other perennials. Very pretty blue, pink, white or mix of colors.

These have dainy bell shaped flowers in early spring. They like partial to half shade, humous rich but well drained soil. Deadheading is essential for reblooms. Mulch in winter.
