<![CDATA[May 07th, 2019]]>Wed, 08 May 2019 00:32:16 GMThttp://rootstoshoots.org/blog/may-07th-2019I decided to open on Monday, May 6 and will be open this week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, from 10-6 and Saturday from 10-4. After this week, I will continue to be open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Many of the shrubs that were on sale from last year are gone but there are still quite a few for $5 which sells elsewhere for over $30. Nothing here is over $20 and all are acclimated to the environment, organically grown and fertilized naturally, so there will be no shock in transplanting. I'm going to continue to offer hydrangea lilacs, boxwoods, elderberry, iris, Rose of Sharon, Burning bush and a few other shrubs, all of the dayily and hosta and the trees as are listed here. Thanks.]]><![CDATA[Opening day for 2019]]>Sat, 27 Apr 2019 16:42:02 GMThttp://rootstoshoots.org/blog/opening-day-for-2019Our opening will be delayed this year due to my leaving town on a family emergency. Hopefully I won't be gone to long, and I can open the end of next week. I'll post here and on facebook of the date. Sorry. Thanks for your patience.

New grandson, new house for both daughters; my extra time will be spent helping with babysitting and with their plantings for their homes.

I will continue on with my daylillies and hostas (which I love) and the perennials, and will keep some of the shrubs, but we will have a large sale of shrubs early in the summer season. If you are on our list for receiving our sales, you will get an email. I will also post on our webpage and facebook page. These are extremely well rooted shrubs, so growth will be fast as soon as they get established in the ground!

<![CDATA[April 15th, 2014]]>Tue, 15 Apr 2014 19:47:09 GMThttp://rootstoshoots.org/blog/april-15th-2014
It was great to get out on Sunday and check on plants in the nursery. Most plants are still dormant; however, the daylilies are all making their presence known! I don't think we lost any, which considering this winter, is pretty good. It was a good start at cleaning the nursery, but there is so much to do. We're still pretty flooded, and this snow isn't helping today!

My hope is to be up and running in a few weeks, but honestly, its' still too early to plant in Geauga county, unless you are protected from this cold and you have excellent drainage! I will be having broccoli, brussels sprouts and cauliflower (the cold vegetables) ready when we open.

Most of the vegetables are being transferred for
the third time and will have great root systems at planting time. We have a variety of tomatoes (paste, cherry and regular), peppers (hot, bells and
chillies), squash (zucchini and yellow) and gourds.

We are really looking forward to having a rewarding garden this summer, and hope you have the same.

We're still under snow, and it sounds like we will be for a long time! But inside the warm greenhouse, seeds are a sprouting!
Hopefully all will do well and the outside plants will make it through this tough winter. I think we all have had enough of this cold and snow!
